Experience Level needed to pull off WOW Factor:  Beginner

How many people can you serve:  For the friend who brags on how they LOVE hot stuff…mark the one you left all the seeds and membrane in…she will only be having half of it.  For the other people you can bank on one to two Peppers each.  This is an easy recipe to make a big batch or make a small batch.

Pepper Ingredients:

Grab you some fresh Jalapeno Peppers from your local Farmers Market or favorite grocery.  Try to get medium to large sized Jalapeno Peppers. Say 20 to 30 of them

Bacon Ingredients:

Your favorite bacon.  One package is plenty for 20 to 30 Jalapenos.  Whatever is left you can eat when no one is looking.

Stuffing Ingredients

Sweet Life BBQ Sauce from Sweet Life Sauce Company…we’re going for a sweet versus hot thing with the Jalapeno Peppers…Sweet Life BBQ Sauce is a wonderful complement to the heat of the peppers.

Cream cheese and a piping bag or a Ziploc bag.

Directions:

First things first, get the bacon smell going in the house.  Stick enough strips of bacon in the microwave on high for 5 minutes  to cover the number of Jalapenos you are going to make…then add another 5 to 7 you can eat when no one is looking.

You might get some gloves on for this part.  Wash your peppers and cut the stems off.  This will leave an opening in the top of the pepper you will use to get the seeds and membrane out of each pepper.  Take a skinny paring knife or grab a popsicle stick that you can jam down in the pepper to remove the membrane and seeds to turn the heat down on the peppers.  The more membrane and seeds you leave in the peppers, the hotter they will be.

Be sure to have at least one for that friend of yours that brags how she likes hot food…don’t touch that pepper after you cut the top off.

Set them aside and make your stuffing by mixing a block of cream cheese with ½ cup of Sweet Life BBQ Sauce.  Once mixed, place into a Ziploc bag that has one of the bottom corners cut off so you can pipe this mixture directly into the holes in the tops of the peppers.

Start filling the peppers with the mixture…don’t be shy, fill them right up.

Bacon wrap time!  Take the bacon you already heated up a bit in the microwave and wrap each of the peppers with a strip of bacon, starting at the top to close off the opening and wrapping towards the bottom.  You might get a couple of wraps around each pepper with the bacon.

Stick a couple toothpicks in the peppers to hold the bacon in place and platter them for your march to the grill.

Keep your eye on the one for your friend who likes hot foods…she will not be let down.  Place the peppers on the grill on medium heat and tend to them until the bacon is crispy…then they are done.  Once you hit this stage, place the peppers on a serving platter and let them rest for about 5 minutes.

Get your camera out from behind your back and have your friend eat the first one that you have set aside for her….

For the rest of your guests, it is time to serve them up!  Enjoy!

ALL will be well in the land!
