Central Florida’s own Altamonte Springs is covered by Sweet Life Sauce Company! Rob and Holly, the husband and wife team behind Sweet Life Sauce Company started their family life together in Altamonte Springs. They bring a love of entertaining their friends and family to you through the sauces and rubs they developed.
Available year round, made locally right here in Central Florida, they have developed sauces that will leave wonderful flavors on your palette and have you and your friends digging into the jars for more. Imagine a group of your friends and family passing a jar of our Sweet Life BBQ Sauce around the kitchen and enjoying it right out of the jar!
Sweet Life Sauce Co. has been accused of having a BBQ salsa at times though our BBQ Sauces are not salsas…we’ve been told our sauces have a wonderful smoky flavor though we use no smoke flavorings…we have had friends and family rave about the hints of ginger though we use no ginger. We have found a perfect blend of natural seasonings that joyfully join with each other to provide wonderful notes of aged dark rum, gingers, and the fresh smokiness you will find on your palette.
Try this recipe we received from our friends in Cumberland Maine, near Portland.
Center cut pork chops stuffed with apples and Sweet Life BBQ Sauce.
Simply take your favorite center cut pork chop anywhere from 1 to 1/12 inches thick.
Slice them so you can create a pocket in the middle of them but don’t slice them all the way through…the apples and Sweet Life BBQ Sauce will be stuffed into this pocket.
Get a couple of your favorite apples…stay with good cooking apples such as Granny Smith’s or Macs and get them cut up into ½ inch cubes or so. Stuff as many of these diced up apples as you want into the pocket in your center cut pork chops.
Now, take a Ziploc or plastic bag used as a piping bag or find your baster and inject the pocket in the pork chops with Sweet Life BBQ Sauce until it oozes out. Lightly baste your chops with a coating of your favorite olive oil infused with a spice rub and fire up the grill.
Cook your chops on low heat on your upper racks of the grill for about 30 to 45 minutes, all depending on the thickness of the chops you used. Let em’ slow cook on that rack and enjoy some time with your family and friends.
After time is up turn the heat up on your grill and transfer the chops to the lower rack on your grill…it’s time to slather your chops with generous amounts of Sweet Life BBQ Sauce. Once you have your chops coated, let the Sweet Life BBQ Sauce caramelize to a perfect sugary, apple-ee, aged dark rum-ee(sometimes we invent new words at Sweet Life Sauce Company!), coating for your apple stuffed center cut pork chops…I’m drooling just writing this.
Or try this one, Poached Fresh Salmon on the grill with caramelized Spice of Life BBQ Sauce.
Get a piece of fresh salmon from your favorite fish monger. Grab a piece of tin foil that you can shape into a flat bottomed boat with enough room for about 1 ½ inches around the piece of fresh salmon when laid in the foil boat. Roll up the edges of the foil so they stand about an inch or so high. Place this foil boat on the top rack of your grill.
Place the piece of salmon in the boat and pour your favorite white wine over the salmon so that the salmon is sitting in about a ½ inch of wine. Lightly coat with your favorite herbs and spices or olive oil infused with a grilling rub.
Now baste the salmon with a generous coating of Spice of Life BBQ sauce and let it poach in this yummy bath of flavors for about 30 minutes or so…take it off the heat, let it rest for about 5 minutes and get ready to enjoy!
Please come see Rob and Holly at the Sanford Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A great little ride up from Altamonte Springs. Pick up a few Sweet Life Sauce Company sauces there or through our website.
